The Pella City Council is continuing work to prepare for the resurfacing of 218th Avenue near Neil Drive. At policy and planning this week, council explored an option that would also reconstruct Neil Drive from Idaho Drive to the gravel conversion project. Assistant City Administrator Corey Goodenow says the additional cost would be approximately $450,000, but would make a sidewalk connection from the Volksweg Trail to the Shady Brook Development, and make the entire project more consistent with City of Pella street standards. The resurfacing of 218th Avenue is expected to be part of the next construction season and budget cycle in 2021.
