indianola-3

With three starters and one bench player lost to graduation, the Indianola boys basketball team will have a new look this year. Starters Caden Rehmeier and Drew Kingery will return to the squad, as well as rotation players John McGinnis and CJ Kuehl who will all have to pick up some of the 40-plus points per game that is now off the team. Head coach Brett Watson tells KNIA Sports he knows that however the rotation shakes out, it will be fun to see this team play.

“What I like about them is they are hungry. Some of them have sat back awhile with the senior class ahead of them. And now that they are gone these guys are realizing that there is a spot and a role for them. OVer the summer they have the leadership and time put in, and you can see they are hungry. I’m seeing it already in practice, and we are going to keep shaking it up to see what everyone’s roles look like and what each of them brings to the table. Just the whole puzzle that is the fun part of high school basketball.”

The Indians get their season started Monday at North Polk.
