Over the past week, 153 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Marion County. There have been 2,053 cases since the beginning of the outbreak, with 1,718 considered recovered by contract tracing from Marion County Public Health. A 20th death due to the virus was reported in the county to the State of Iowa Coronavirus Database over the weekend, and there are 15 Marion County residents hospitalized. With high school sports returning, everyone interested in those competitions are reminded there will be crowd restrictions at games and meets for at least the next two weeks, and for the Little Hawkeye Conference until the end of December — limited to two individuals per participant.
