The Pella Public Library is now offering Mobile Hotspots for check out to library patrons. Mobile Hotspots are devices which connect to the Internet through cellular data, and in turn, establish a local WiFi network that can provide Internet to devices such as laptops and tablets. Mobile Hotspots may be able to provide Internet in locations where service may otherwise be unavailable. Assistant Director at the Pella Public Library Chris Brown says that with the increase in virtual schooling, as well as people working from home, the library staff felt that there was no better time to start loaning Mobile Hotspots. The devices are provided at no additional cost to patrons, with Internet subscription costs paid for by the Pella Public Library. Mobile Hotspots are available for immediate checkout, and the loan period is seven days.
