Now that the Christmas season is underway, Helping Hands Knoxville is seeking donations of hams. Chuck Galaezzi with Helping Hands says that the Thanksgiving donations were a success, and encourages people to think about contributing in this season of giving.
“We’re going to try to come up with hams now for the Christmas baskets. You never want to give up. This is the time of the year that we stockpile cash and everything for the rest of the year. If someone feels like giving and they want to send a check to Helping Hands, we’ll be able to buy more food at the Food Bank of Iowa. I’d like to make sure people understand that we can buy 715 pounds of food for $100.”
