Knoxville City Manager Aaron Adams has offered his resignation to Mayor Brian Hatch and the Knoxville City Council. The item will be on the council agenda Monday. Adams tells KNIA/KRLS News he will be taking a town manager position in Timnath, Colorado, where his parents reside. Adams says it was a bittersweet decision, and he’s looking forward to being close to family with this new opportunity.

“It’s going to be very difficult for me and my family. This has been our home for six years now. In fact, December 3rd is my sixth anniversary, my first day was December 3rd, 2014. It kind of brings everything full-circle that I tender a resignation exactly six years to the day. We’re definitely going to miss it, but we’re looking forward to new opportunities too. Family was a huge motivator to move to Colorado, so we’re definitely looking forward to getting closer to family.”

The Timnath Council approved the hire Wednesday evening. Adams’ last day as Knoxville City Manager will be January 3rd, 2021.
