The Melcher-Dallas Saints have their first conference doubleheader of the season tonight as they travel to Ankeny Christian to take on the Eagles. Both teams will be looking for their first win of the season.

The Melcher-Dallas girls’ basketball team will be without starting Guard Riley Enfield, as she sprained her knee in their loss to Pleasantville Tuesday Night. Coach Kelsey Goff tells KNIA Sports that Hailey Hoch will start in her place. Goff also says that it is going to be a unique lineup with one guard and four forwards starting.

Hoch led the team in scoring against Pleasantville, with 14 points off the bench for the Saints in the loss.

The Melcher-Dallas boys will be at full strength for the first time this season, as Steven Krpan and Owen Suntken will be returning to the lineup. Coach Jim Wells tells KNIA Sports that he was happy to see both players back at practice getting ready for tonight’s game against Ankeny Christian.

The Saints are looking to get their season on track after suffering a season-opening 56-37 loss to Pleasantville at home Tuesday night.

Melcher-Dallas’ doubleheader at Ankeny Christian starts tonight with the girls’ game tipping off at 6:00 P.M.
