The Warren County Engineer’s Office is ready for the snow and ice winter brings to the roads in south central Iowa. Warren County Engineer David Carroll tells KNIA News about preparing for winter.

“We have a large hoop building at the current shop facility that is stocked to the roof, we can’t fit anymore in there, about 2,000 tons of salt and sand for the winter. What we don’t use for this winter we can obviously save for next winter, so it’s nice we can store it all ourselves.”

Carroll also said all of the equipment and trucks are outfitted, tested, and the operators are trained and ready to go, but everyone is hoping for a mild winter.
