A Des Moines man faces charges after selling a stolen vehicle in Knoxville earlier this month. In the evening hours of December 10th, Knoxville Police received a call from a resident who had just purchased a 1997 GMC Sierra pickup from 33-year-old Nicholas Donielson. After inspecting the truck, the resident discovered alterations, leading him to believe it had been stolen. Police discovered that the VIN number of the pickup was reported as stolen on October 28th, 2020 with the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office.

An arrest warrant was served on December 21st, and a $7,000 bond was posted. Donielson faces charges of 2nd Degree Theft for possession of stolen property, and 3rd Degree Theft for the transfer of property by deception. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 31st.
