The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad is currently in 1st place in the South Central Conference with a 3-0 record. The Panthers hope to stay in that position for the remainder of the season, but they know with challenges in January from Albia, Centerville and the rest of the conference it will be a tough road. Coach Jeff Larson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he likes the fact that his players from top to bottom are willing to work hard and take on challenges in games to help get the team to where they want to be.

Larson:
“We have some pretty talented basketball players, but those talented players also want to work. For example down at Davis County, both Keiren and Spencer said they wanted to take Reeves and that’s a great thing that they want to take the initiative and they want to take responsibility and win the game.”

The Panthers will start off the 2nd half of the season with Centerville January 5th. The Panthers will see Albia on January 8th and February 2nd. The two games against the Blue Demons could go a long way to determining the conference champion.
