Indianola Wrestling Undefeated in Mendenhall Duals in Ames

The Indianola wrestling squad traveled to Ames Saturday, sweeping the Mendenhall Duals meet going 4-0 with wins over Ballard 36-33, Ames 32-26, Pocahontas Area 52-19, and Perry 75-4.

Having standout matches for the Indians included Bowen Downey at 106/113lbs, Cael Meacham at 120lbs, Ryder Downey at 132lbs, Camden Lloyd at 145lbs, Trey Kellow at 160lbs, and Cael Crawford at heavyweight.

Head coach Clint Manny tells KNIA News work over break was getting back to fundamentals and using the rest of the season to focus on being at the top.
“We need to refocus our energy towards solid technique and solid defense, our bottom to top approach of what works and what is really performing against those top level guys. Really focusing on that over the next week.”
The Indians will next wrestle Tuesday at home against Newton in Little Hawkeye Conference action.

Indianola Boys Swimming Dominates Ken Gaeth Invite

The Indianola boys swimming team finished first out of six teams in a tournament at DM East Saturday, scoring 442 points. The Indians got first place finishes from Nathan Pollard in the 100 Breaststroke and 100 Butterfly, Matt Coffelt in the 100 Backstroke and 500 Freestyle, Abram Wadle in the 50 Freestyle, and first place in the 400 Freestyle Relay, 200 Medley Relay, and 200 Freestyle Relay.
