The Lady Dutch have been close, but have not been able to find an upset win thus far in the winter season. They will hope to do so on the road tonight to Grinnell in what has become a girls only contest as the Tigers’ boys program is in pause due to COVID-19 concerns.

Pella’s girls fell to No. 5 Dallas Center-Grimes Friday as the Mustangs pulled away in the 4th quarter, while Grinnell is trying to shake off a 65-61 upset loss to Norwalk. The Lady Dutch will have to contain the Tigers’ shooting attack that has a 4A-best 85 three-pointers made, which is 3rd most regardless of classification in Iowa.

While Pella has dominated the overall historical series 21-8, all of those wins came from 2007 to 2016 — since then, the Tigers have won seven in a row, most of which by large margins.

The soon-to-be No. 1 ranked Pella Dutch boys will have their game with Grinnell played instead on Thursday, January 28th. Tonight’s Pella vs Grinnell girls varsity game can be heard on 92.1 KRLS, with pregame at 5:45 p.m.
