American Legion Post 89 in Pella recognized the top three winners of their annual flag essay contest held among 5th grade students at Jefferson Intermediate School and Pella Christian Grade School.

The following were place winners in Pella:
Reagan Rus (1st place) – PCGS
Audika Visser (2nd place) – Jefferson
Ava Nikkel (3rd place) – PCGS
