The Iowa Legislature may implement a policy of open enrollment for Iowa School Districts, which would allow parents to select a school their child may attend regardless of where they reside. State Senator Julian Garrett tells KNIA News the bill is one of many that may be taken up by the legislature, but it will be something that will at least be discussed.

“There are a few schools that don’t allow students to open enroll out to another district, so we are going to be talking about a bill that would require that, to give parents the choice if they want to open enroll in another school district that they are allowed to do so.”
