Coming off of a difficult non-conference split Tuesday, the road doesn’t get any easier for the Pella basketball teams as they begin the second half of league competition.

The conference-leading Pella boys and the 7-6 Lady Dutch make the trek to Indianola to revisit the Little Hawkeye Conference season, part two.

Pella edged the Indians in overtime of the boys’ game back in December, while it was the No. 14 in 5A Indianola girls who toppled the Lady Dutch in the 2nd of six close, heartbreaking losses for the green and white this winter.

Seniors Madison Naig and Faith Diers both understand the challenge that awaits them as the league resumes competition and with the playoffs looming, but they are hopeful a signature win over No. 3 in 3A Des Moines Christian this week will finally give them more confidence late in close games.

The Pella boys are hoping to regroup after falling to the Lions after losing an 18-point lead in the final 13 minutes in Tuesday’s ranked clash and to keep their undefeated league record intact.

Coverage for Pella/Indianola basketball begins at 5:45 p.m. on 94.3 KNIA and the KRLS2 stream.
