Elementary students in the Pella Community School District are gearing up for the annual Kids Heart Challenge.
Formally known as Jump Rope for Heart, Madison Elementary P.E. Teacher Katie Gravert says kids learn about the importance of cardiac health through exercise and nutrition, all while raising funds for the American Heart Association.
“Every year Madison students outdo themselves for a great cause that is near and dear to many of them along with some of our very own students being impacted. I am proud of the commitment to keeping their hearts healthy.”
Each year, Gravert says Madison Elementary raises approximately $8,000, which is their goal again in 2021. The event will be held later next week at both Lincoln and Madison schools.
