The PCM Mustangs basketball teams were on the road Saturday against separate teams and had different results. The Mustang girls lost to Nevada 41-17 and the boys won 59-46. The PCM girls are now done for the season.

The Mustang boys close the regular season 11-11, and will secure yet another non losing season with an opening round playoff win on Thursday. Durant Van Dyke had a season high 19 points against Saydel and Carson Vande Lune added another 13 as the juniors led the way in scoring for PCM.

The Mustangs’ girls season came to an end, and their first playoff game got out of hand quickly. PCM mustered just four points in the whole first half and made just one shot from the field. The game also took a turn for the worse as Senior Lilli Baird left the game with an elbow injury and did not return. Sidney Shaver and Paige Steenhoek led the way with four points each. PCM finishes the 2021 season with a 4-17 record.

The Mustang boys will play either Woodward-Granger or Chariton Thursday night at home for their first district playoff game. Action will tip off at 7 PM.
