One of the traits of the Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad this season was no matter how far behind the Panthers were during a game, they were able to come back and give themselves a chance or even complete the comeback to win. Coach Jim Uitermarkt told KNIA/KRLS Sports that was the message to the team after their loss last week to Roland-Story in the regional semi-final.

Uitermarkt:
“A lot of girls basketball teams that come out at halftime don’t believe they can come back being down by 16 and that was the message after the game is that I was proud of them they battled back and made a game of it.”

Not only did the Panthers make comebacks, but they won close games as Knoxville was 6-3 in games decided by less than ten points. Uitermarkt says that was likely the thing he was most proud of was their never give up attitude. Knoxville finished up with a record of 15-6.
