A Des Moines man faces charges after a trespassing incident in Knoxville Wednesday. At around 12:49 p.m., officers responded to the report of potential trespassing in the 600 block of E Pleasant Street, where they found 37-year-old Jeremy Manser in a locked room in the basement. Manser was known by the officers to be armed, and the homeowner said they do not own firearms. Officers located a loaded handgun in a trash bag in the same room Manser was in.

Upon a search, officers found a glass pipe with burnt residue. Manser admitted to using the pipe to smoke methamphetamine.

Manser faces charges of a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia, and trespassing first offense. Bond is set at $5,000, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 4th.
