After a nearly three-week hiatus, the Central men’s basketball team will play its regular season finale today, hosting Buena Vista inside P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium. The Dutch last played on February 15th against Dubuque, right before another pause for health and safety reasons. Despite the 2-2 record, a win could vault Central to the #3 spot in the conference by percentage points, and would earn the Dutch a home game in the conference tournament. A loss would drop the Dutch to the #6 spot.

Buena Vista has had a quality season, and has received votes in the D3Hoops.com poll. The Beavers are locked into the #2 seed in the conference tournament. BVU enters 6-2 overall, and is coming off a 76-67 loss at home Monday to Dubuque. The biggest goal for the Beavers is to pick up steam heading into the conference tournament.

Today’s game will air on 92.1 KRLS, with Jon Mohwinkle calling the action. Pregame coverage begins at 1:45, with the opening tipoff from Kuyper Gymnasium at 2:00.

Several other Central sports teams will be in action today. The women’s indoor track and field team takes part in the American Rivers Conference Championships hosted by Wartburg at 10:00 a.m.

The baseball team gets its season started with a neutral site doubleheader in Fulton, MO against Monmouth. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. The volleyball team will host Loras at 7:00 p.m. to conclude the day’s action. The softball team was scheduled to play games in St. Ann, MO, but those have been cancelled due to health and safety protocols.
