The Knoxville School Board accepted project bids for the new middle school at its meeting Wednesday. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says it’s a big milestone, and looks forward to initial work beginning later this month.

“This project has really fallen into place from the time we had our initial bond vote on March 3rd last year, all the way through the bidding. Even though we had been anticipating skyrocketing costs of construction, our bids came in very favorable. We’re going to be able to do the entire project for budget, and we’re excited about that. We were even able to add a few pieces that we thought we might have to pay for out of our other fund streams. We’re expecting a fence to go up and construction to start around March 22nd.”
