During halftime of the 1A State Championship between Montezuma and North Linn, PCM boys basketball coach Fred Lorensen was honored for achieving his 600th career win during the 2020-21 season.

 

Lorensen’s 600th win came during PCM’s fifth game of the season on December 11 when the Mustangs knocked off Greene County, 63-51. The win was also PCM’s first win of the season. Lorensen told KRLS Sports at the time that 600 wins means you have coached a long time.

 

“Any win is really big, especially if it is the first win of the season.”

 

Lorensen’s Mustangs finished 11-11 during the season and made it to the substate semifinal against Des Moines Christian.
