Pleasantville Girls Track Opens 2021 With 5th Place Finish at PCM

Pleasantville’s girls’ track team competed in their first meet of the season, and they placed 5th in the PCM Early Bird Invitational Tuesday with a total of 51 points.

Junior Amy Kish finished second in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 14.79 and 30.70 seconds, respectively. Kish was also part of the girls 4×100 meter relay where the Trojans also placed second with a time of 57.58 seconds. Senior Kaylee Hodenfield placed second in the shot put with a distance of 33’5”. Pleasantville also finished second in the 4×100 meter shuttle hurdle with a time of 1:21.

Pleasantville Boys Track Finishes Top Two in Three Team Events, Kauffman takes First in Shot Put

Pleasantville’s boys’ track team finished top two in three team events at Pella Christian in their first meet since 2019.

The Trojans finished second in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:47.55. Pleasantville also finished second in the 4×800 relay with a time of 10:15.59. The final event where the Trojans placed second was in the 4×110 meter shuttle hurdle with a time of 1:16.80. The biggest highlight of the night for the Trojans came from senior Matthew Kauffman, who finished first in the shot put with a distance of 41’7”.

Pleasantville’s next meet will be next Tuesday when they travel to Lynnville-Sully. For full results, look below.
