The Norwalk boys tennis team held its home opener Thursday, playing host to Ankeny in a non-conference dual. The Warriors made strides from Tuesday’s meet, but fell 8-3 to the Hawks. Head Coach Russell Place says this was a good gauge of where his team is at early in the season.

Norwalk moves to 0-2 in duals on the season and returns to action next Friday at Urbandale.

The boys soccer team was also in action Thursday, playing host to Des Moines East in the season opener. A goal by Chase Monroe with just under a minute left was enough to earn the Warriors a 1-0 victory. Norwalk returns to action Monday at home against Dowling Catholic.

The boys track and field team placed 5th at Indianola with 58.5 points.
