Pella Boys Track and Field Earn Top Finishes at SE Polk Early Bird
Pella had several strong performances in their second outdoor meet of the 2021 spring season at Southeast Polk Thursday. Pella won the meet with 149 team points.

Pella Boys Soccer Opens With Road Win Over Huskies
Pella traveled to Winterset to play their first match of the season Thursday night, opening with a 4-0 win over Winterset. The Dutch started strong, with Isaac Semini earning a penalty kick inside the Winterset 18yd box on a foul in the 5th minute to make it 1-0 Pella.

Head Coach Mark Solomon says freshman Austin Bone came on in the 2nd half and made an impact quickly, receiving a pass, and then tactfully putting it in the far corner to make it 2-0 in favor of Pella in the 55th minute. Pella continued to see success as the second half continued, with a clean-up goal off a few bounces for Logan Solomon in the 64th minute of play, and then a second goal by Isaac Semini in the 70th minute to close the scoring at 4-0.

Solomon also noted multiple “excellent” saves by Pella Goalkeeper Mason Holland to secure the shutout for the Dutch. Pella hosts Fairfield on Monday, April 5 at the City Soccer Complex, and travels to Indianola Tuesday, April 6.

Pella Girls Golf Edged by Lynnville-Sully
The Lady Dutch Golf Team was edged out by 6 strokes versus Lynnville-Sully last night. Pella shot a 265 compared to Lynnville-Sully’s 259. Leading scores were Runner-Up Medalist Ella Jahner (61), Reagan VanWyk (66), Ellie Wogen (69), and Olivia Hood (69), according to Head Coach Joe Tangen. Pella is next in action at an invitational tournament in Ankeny on April 12th.
