With spring sports now underway, many schools are taking a few mitigation efforts to keep the athletes safe, while also allowing them to have a season, which did not happen last year. Twin Cedars Athletic Director Trent Verwers tells KNIA/KRLS Sports fans and athletes alike can distance at outside events, and a few schools are taking necessary steps to sanitize equipment.

Verwers:
“You can always sanitize the batons, and some schools are sanitizing the block after each race. You can easily social distance at outside events, and I think things are starting to look up.”

Verwers does not know what things will look like when summer sports start up in May and June. He hopes all athletes and fans take the necessary precautions
