With one meet under their belts, PCM’s girls’ track team felt the thrill of competition for the first time since 2019 after last season was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Mustangs finished second in their home meet to Davis County and also competed against fellow Marion County foes Pleasantville and Pella Christian. For Senior Celeste Wageman, it felt good being back on the track, especially since she set a new personal record for the high jump in their last meet.

“I am personally proud of how I did, I got a new personal record in high jump and won the meet, so it was really exciting for me to start off the season that way.”

Wageman also states that she was happy to have a spring sports season after not having a season last year. PCM’s next meet is also at home, and will be Tuesday at 4:30 PM.
