The Knoxville Girls Soccer Squad fell to Newton 2-1 in overtime on Tuesday. The Panthers’s only goal on the night was by Hanna Linsley in the second half off an assist from Taylor Jones. Coach Matt Ritchhart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the Jones to Linsley connection is already showing how good it can be.

Ritchhart:
“Taylor has had an unfortunate beginning to her career with COVID and injuries in her first two years and she’ll step in and her and Hanna form a pretty dynamic duo and that’s going to be our core.”

The girls fall to 0-2 on the season and travel to Des Moines Christian next Tuesday. The Panther boys fell to Bondurant-Farrar on Tuesday 5-1. Jay Kellar got Knoxville’s lone goal. Knoxville falls to 1-1 on the season and will be back home Thursday at Ken Locke Stadium against Albia.
