PCM Boys Golf Place 2nd, Girls Struggle In First Meet

PCM’s golf teams both began their season on the road and it was a tale of two results as the boys finished second in their quadrangular at Lynnville-Sully, but the girls got off to a slow start at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.

PCM’s boys finished second behind Albia with a team score of 178 and were led by Gabe Lanphier who had the 2nd-lowest score in the meet with 42. Grant Van Veen finished second on the team with 43. Consistent scoring in windy conditions made this a good first meet overall.

The Mustangs girls had all four of their athletes shoot a 71 or lower, led by Eleigh Davis’ low of 62. The girls had a total score of 269. Here are the full girls’ individual results:

PCM’s boys will be back in action Monday when they travel to Bondurant-Farrar, while the girls will battle at fellow Marion County foe Pleasantville next Tuesday.

PCM Boys and Girls Track Both Finish 2nd, Knoxville 5th and 6th, Twin Cedars Girls 7th at Coed Invitational

At the PCM coed track invitational, the Mustangs boys and girls finished second in their home meet; Knoxville track finished fifth and sixth, respectively and the Twin Cedars girls finished seventh.

PCM’s boys finished with 123 points, second behind powerhouse North Polk. Knoxville finished with 61 points, fifth overall and five behind Baxter. Here is a look at the top two finishers for PCM and Knoxville’s boys:

PCM and Twin Cedars’ girls’ next meet is Thursday at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, while the PCM boys will be at Baxter Friday. Knoxville’s track teams will be in Norwalk for a coed meet on Monday.
