After starting off the season finishing second in Meskwaki Settlement, both Melcher-Dallas track teams will go back on the road today as the boys take a trip to Interstate-35, while the girls will be at Clarke.

The Saints’ boys are coming off having one individual and team first-place finish. Lucas Harrington placed first in discus and the team finished first in the distance medley. For coach Jon Suntken, he hopes his team can continue improving throughout the season.

“We will be mixing up a lot of stuff. The first two weeks will be strengths and what we can improve on. Let’s find out where we can compete the best at, quality times, quality runs, and we will go from there.”

Melcher-Dallas’ girls got an impressive start from J’Lyn Knutson, who finished first in both the 1500 and 3200 meter runs in her first showing. The Saints’ girls also finished first in the 4×100 relay.

Both meets will begin at 4:30 PM.
