The Simpson men’s and women’s soccer teams took on rival Central in American Rivers Conference action Wednesday, the men earning a 1-1 tie and the women winning 4-2.

The Storm women won their first game at Central since 2010, scoring first for a quick 1-0 lead on the foot of Megan Roberts, but falling behind 2-1 before a goal by Jaci Versluis tied the score going into the break. The second half was all Storm however, with Cassie Nash putting through a goal and Roberts scoring her second to get the win. The Storm are now 2-0-1 on the season.

The Storm men suffered their first game of the season where they did not come out on top, however they continued to avoid a loss with a tie against the Dutch. The Storm scored on a Jordy Triana-Vazquez spring down the pitch in the first six minutes of the contest, but the defense allowed a second-half goal for the tie. The Storm are now 1-0-1 on the season. Both teams will next play Saturday at Wartburg.
