Pella Boys Soccer Edges Norwalk in OT
The Pella boys soccer team pushed past Norwalk in overtime by a 2-1 score on the road Tuesday.

After a foul, Isaac Semini took the direct kick for Pella about 25 yards from goal, which tied it 1-1 with about 20 minutes left in the game. As the game ended, Head Coach Mark Solomon says the Dutch defense continued to frustrate Norwalk’s chances and opportunities.

A collision between a Dutch winger and a Norwalk player resulted in the ball coming free about 18 yards from goal. Sophomore Logan Solomon took advantage and struck the ball hard and scored to win the game two minutes into the extra period.

Pella improves to 4-2 overall and is at Carlisle on Friday.

Lady Dutch Falls in Sudden Death PKs to Norwalk
The match between the Pella and Norwalk girls soccer teams went as far as they could, with the Warriors coming out on top in sudden death penalty kicks 3-2 over the Lady Dutch Tuesday.

Pella pulled themselves out of a 1-0 halftime hole with a pair of Macy Schulz goals in regulation. Two overtimes and a full round of penalty kicks were not enough to settle the score until Norwalk hit the game winner in the final tiebreaker possible.

The Lady Dutch drop to 2-1 and are next at the ADM Tournament against Gilbert and the hosting Tigers on Saturday.

Pella, Pella Christian Boys Begin Regular Season Golf Conference Tournament
In a new format this spring, the Pella and Pella Christian boys golf teams played in the 1st round of a 54 hole regular season Little Hawkeye Conference tournament at Oskaloosa Tuesday.

The Dutch placed 3rd and the Eagles were 6th after the first 18 holes. The standings ar:

Pella’s Will Simpson fired a 75 and stands in 2nd place, while Ayden Gordon tallied an 81 after 18 holes and was the 6th lowest scorer.

Round two of the Little Hawkeye Conference regular season championship tournament will be held on Tuesday, April 20th at Beaver Creek, hosted by Dallas Center-Grimes. Pella’s boys are back at the Pella Golf and Country Club on Friday.


Pella Girls Golf 2nd at Newton Triangular
The Lady Dutch Golf team played in a triangular versus Newton and Oskaloosa on Tuesday night. Pella scored a 240 compared to Newton’s 198. Reagan VanWyk earned Runner-up Medalist honors shooting a 49. Ellie Wogen shot a 58 and Ella Jahner tallied a 64.
