The Indianola girls golf team placed third at the Beaver Creek Golf Course in Grimes Thursday, shooting a 230 behind the host DCG Mustangs and Newton. The Indians will next golf Monday at Willow Creek Golf Course in a tournament hosted by WDM Valley.

The Indianola boys track and field team was at Waukee Thursday, placing fourth with 68 points. Top finishers for the Indians included:

1600m – Curtis Johnson – 1st
400 Hurdles – Logan Piper – 2nd
Discus – Walker Whalen – 1st
4×100 Relay – 3rd
4×200 Relay – 2nd
Sprint Medley – 1st

Head coach Matt Oliver tells KNIA Sports he expects the Indians to compete against the best the state has to offer, and part of doing so is competing at meets like Waukee and Ankeny. The Indians will next compete at Norwalk on Monday.
