Melcher-Dallas Girls Golf Finish 3rd @ Pleasantville, Coed Meet @ Moravia Preview

Melcher-Dallas’ girls’ golf team finished third in their triangular at Pleasantville and will be back on the road today for a co-ed meet at The Preserve on Rathbun Lake in Moravia.

The Saints had four golfers compete in the meet, including 2019 state-qualifying golfer Kynser Reed. Reed finished as the lowest golfer for Melcher-Dallas with a score of 56, which was good for sixth individually. The second-highest golfer for the Saints was Emma Heaberlin, with a score of 65, one stroke ahead of Kasyn Reed.

The Saints’ boys are coming off finishing fourth in a quadrangular Tuesday at Shady Oaks in Ackworth. Trevon Johnson was the low golfer for the Saints, finishing with a score of 52, which was 11th individually. Their second-lowest was Chase Ripperger, who had a 58.

The meet will be at the Preserve on Rathbun Lake in Moravia and will begin at 4:00 PM.

Melcher-Dallas Girls Track Set Three Meet Records in Central Decatur

Melcher-Dallas’ girls’ track team finished sixth in their meet at Central Decatur, but there were three meet records set by Saints athletes last night.

J’Lyn Knutson set two meet records, which were in the 1500 and 3000-meter runs. Knutson ran a time of 5:15.72 in the 1500 and a time of 11:11.98 in the 3000. The final meet record was set by Grace Overgaard, who threw 103’3” in the discus. The Saints finished with a total of 61 points, good enough for sixth overall. Melcher-Dallas finished ahead of all of their Bluegrass Conference opponents in the meet.

Melcher-Dallas’ next meet will be a co-ed meet on their home track Tuesday, which is their conference tournament meet. The meet will begin at 4:30 PM.
