The Knoxville Boys Golf Squad is scheduled to play Van Meter at the Lakeview Country Club in Winterset today. This will be the first time any of the players will see the Winterset course. Coach Barry Smith tells KNIA/KRLS they have resorted to more strategy planning when going to new courses.

Smith:
“You like to tell them you need to hit it 250 yards in an ideal position every time. We’re not going to hit it 250 yards in an ideal position every time. But if we can maneuver around and stay out of trouble, and go over those previews.”

Smith says they are still a very inexperienced team in the fact they have not had a lot of high school competition at this time. In other Knoxville action today, the boys soccer squad is set to host Des Moines Christian at Ken Locke Stadium and the girls are set to travel to Fairfield.
