Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Knoxville is hosting a community plant sale on Saturday, May 1st from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Pastor Josh Feala says this is way the church is continuing their community outreach after some typical events were cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

“After listening to some parishioners and the joys they found in gardening, I suggested we do a plant sale. One of the parishioners jumped on the idea and started this up, I helped him along the way, and we formed a team of individuals to make it happen. We like being part of the Knoxville community, and we were really missing that during the pandemic. This was a great way to do that.”

There will be outdoor and indoor plants for sale from congregation members’ gardens, as well as heirloom tomatoes sourced from a local greenhouse. Garden art and gently used outdoor decor will also be available. The first $500 raised will benefit the Knoxville Food Youth Initiative. Any remaining funds will go to Good Shepherd youth groups for summer trips.
