Melcher-Dallas Coed Golf Rematches With Southeast Warren at Shady Oaks

Both of Melcher-Dallas’ golf squads will have a rematch with a similar foe at a similar location as both boys and girls will square off with Southeast Warren at Shady Oaks Golf Course in Ackworth.

Both Saints’ teams are coming off a meet at Shady Oaks Thursday where the girls lost to Wayne and the boys finished last in a quadrangular with Wayne, Southeast Warren and Martensdale-St. Mary’s. The top golfer from the girls dual meet was Kynser Reed for Melcher-Dallas, who scored a 53. Reed’s score was good enough for a tie for first place individually. For the Saints’ boys, their top golfer was Trevon Johnson, who also had a 53. Johnson’s score was good enough for 12th individually.

The meet will begin at Shady Oaks Golf Course in Ackworth at 4:00 PM.

Melcher-Dallas Coed Track Travels to Conference Foe Moravia

Both of Melcher-Dallas’ track squads will travel to a fellow Bluegrass Conference rival as they have a dual meet with Moravia.

This will be the first meet for the Saints’ boys in nearly two weeks. Melcher-Dallas’ last meet was April 13 when they competed in the Cardinal Relays at Central Decatur. Melcher-Dallas placed sixth in the meet with a total of 34 points, finishing ahead of Orient-Macksburg and Mormon Trail.

The Saints’ girls last competed Friday and finished third in the Bear Classic Relays at BGM. Melcher-Dallas got three first-place finishes from J’Lyn Knutson in the 800, 1500 and 3000 meter runs. The Saints also got a first place finish from senior Grace Overgaard in discus with a length of 107’4”.

The meet will begin at Moravia at 4:00 PM.
