It’s been more than a year since Central College switched to full virtual learning due to COVID-19 and over the past two semesters, they’ve been back and in-person.
President Mark Putnam says a focus on local data and a more fluid response has allowed students to remain on campus and activities and athletics to proceed mostly on schedule. There have been 31 cases confirmed of COVID-19 since January on campus.
Putnam says they are currently awaiting to see how state laws form around vaccinations before proceeding with any guidance, but he expects more than half of campus to be fully protected by the end of the school year.
