The Knoxville Boys Soccer Squad will get the class 2A sub state underway tonight as the Panthers will host Oskaloosa in a first round match at Ken Locke Stadium. The Panthers and Indians played back in April with Oskaloosa winning by a 2-1 count. Coach Dylan Mick tells KNIA/KRLS Sports with the team as healthy as it has been all season…he feels confident about tonight’s match.

Mick:
“When we’ve got both Colby and Emmett on the field, we feel like we have a shot. Colby did his superhero thing against Newton and Emmett did his thing against Grinnell, and we fell really confident about those two where they’re on the field.”

Emmett Schmidt was unable to play due to an injury in the first match up with Oskaloosa. Schmidt leads the Panthers with 11 goals this season and has the team lead with eight assists. Colby Sandholdt is not far behind with seven goals this year. Tonight’s match gets underway at 6:30. Meanwhile, the Knoxville girls head south to Chariton. With a win, the Panthers can run through the South Central Conference unbeaten and with a shutout, would finish the conference season allowing just one goal. That match gets underway at 5:30 in Chariton.
