
Twin Cedars welcomed Orient-Macksburg to Bussey Friday night for a baseball/softball doubleheader. The Sabers dominated the softball contest 12-0 in three innings and the baseball team took down the Bulldogs 10-0 in their matchup.
The Sabers pounced on the Bulldogs early, as they put up all 12 runs in the first inning. Chloe Durian got the scoring started with a two RBI base knock. Grace Bailey provided the big blow of the inning with a grand slam to blow things open. Ali Mockenhaupt pitched a perfect game in the 3 inning win for Twin Cedars and struck out 6 Bulldogs. The win brought the Sabers back to .500 on the year with a record of 3-3.
Devin Arkema threw a gem in the Sabers baseball team’s win over Orient-Macksburg as he hurled a complete game and struck out 13 Bulldog hitters. Dallas Clark had two hits that brought in three runs and stole five bases. Brett Sedlock and Kade Dunkin each had three hits for Twin Cedars with Sedlock adding a pair of RBIs and 3 stolen bases, and Dunkin added another 2 stolen bases. The win gives Twin Cedars a 3-1 start to the season.
Twin Cedars Softball will be in action early this morning playing in the Southeast Warren Tournament. Game one of the tournament for the Sabers is set to begin at 9 a.m.
