According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, 12,711 Marion County residents are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Another 1,034 have initiated a two-dose series and are awaiting a second shot. In total, 41% of the population has at least some protection against the virus. A total of eight new cases have been reported to the State of Iowa Coronavirus Database locally over the past week, with 23 considered active and infectious. There is one Marion County resident currently hospitalized with COVID-19.
