The Indianola City Council discussed the usage of golf carts on city streets at their meeting Monday, which is currently not allowed by city code. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the city has been receiving inquiries over the past year since the Warren County Supervisors approved the use of side-by-sides and four-wheelers on county roads, and the city will go through the normal process of using city board and commissions to provide a recommendation.
“The request was brought to the council to see if there was interest in having our planning and zoning commission as well as others evaluating it much like we did with the scooters and other mobility that was just approved. Council directed staff to take this to planning and zoning and have them vet the issue and develop a recommendation and bring it before council. That will be going probably their next meeting or two where they will begin the research and discussion on that topic.”
