Pleasantville’s baseball and softball squads came away with wins in their tournaments as the baseball team won their tournament at Colo-Nesco while the softball squad ended their tournament at Woodward-Granger on a high note.

The Trojans’ baseball squad knocked off Gladbrook-Reinbeck in their first game 12-1. Jake DeJoode picked up the win on the mound, giving up just one run in six innings of work. Aaron Wilkins and Jonah Schumacher each picked up two RBIs. Game two for Pleasantville was a 14-7 win over Eagle Grove. Dale Jolly and Austin McMillin each had two hits and a double in the victory. Pleasantville now stands at 7-10 on the season.

The Trojans’ softball squad ended their tournament at Woodward-Granger on a high note as they knocked off Perry 10-6. Pleasantville had five doubles in the game, including two from Amber McKinney and Beka Dyer. Malorie McKinney and Faith Vanderhart each had two RBIs for the Trojans. Vanderhart picked up the win on the mound, putting Pleasantville at 9-12.

Both teams will be back in action Monday as they come home for a West Central Conference matchup with Van Meter. Action will begin with the baseball game starting at 5:00 PM.
