The Quilt of Valor organization will present quilts to local veterans Saturday at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center. Curt Froyen with the American Legion says local Quilt of Valor volunteers are moving on to those who served in Vietnam.

“The Quilt of Valor organization has a number of ladies in the area who have made quilts. They’ve worked hard for the past few years to honor all of our veterans who have served our country. They’ve gone through the list of all our current surviving World War II and Korean veterans. Now they’re beginning to present quilts to our Vietnam era veterans.”

The mission of the group is to provide a quilt to every veteran to honor them for their service. This ceremony begins at 2:00 Saturday afternoon at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center, and is open to the public.
