The Norwalk summer sports teams return to Little Hawkeye Conference play with a road trip to Newton this evening for single varsity games. The #4 in Class 4A softball team brings a seven-game win streak into the matchup against the Cardinals, with five of the seven coming via the shutout. Head Coach Andy Pals says his team’s defense will be the key once again.

The Warriors will look for the season sweep of Newton. Norwalk swept a doubleheader at home on June 7th by scores of 1-0 and 6-0. First pitch from the HA Lyn Softball Complex is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

The #9 in Class 4A Norwalk baseball team will go for win number 15 in a row when they take on the Cardinals in a single game. Newton finds themselves at the bottom of the Little Hawkeye Conference standings at 2-12, while Norwalk is atop the standings at 12-1. Norwalk had no trouble the first time around, sweeping a doubleheader on their home field by scores of 9-5 and 5-0. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Woodland Park in Newton.
