The Norwalk summer sports teams return to Little Hawkeye Conference action tonight, making the trip to Grinnell for doubleheaders. The #4 in Class 4A softball team brings an eight-game win streak into the matchup, with six of them coming in shutout fashion. Head Coach Andy Pals says the keys to his team’s incredible defense as of late have been the cohesiveness of the entire team.

The Warriors beat the Tigers 3-1 when the teams met in Norwalk earlier this season. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The top two baseball teams in the standings will battle in a matchup of ranked teams. The #9 in Class 4A Warrior baseball team also defeated Grinnell 3-1 earlier this season. The Tigers pose one of the most onerous challenges, and enter as the #5 team in Class 3A. Grinnell has won seven consecutive games entering tonight’s doubleheader. Game 2 of the baseball doubleheader will air live on 94.3 KNIA with Jon Mohwinkle and Michael Borst calling the action.
