The Knoxville Softball Squad got a matter of sweet revenge Friday night against class 3A #8 Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont 3-0 on a two hit gem by Ashlyn Finarty, limiting the #5 hitting team in class 3A heard live on 95.3 KNIA. The Panthers got on the board in the bottom of the 1st with another Brittany Bacorn bomb to left field to go up 1-0. That lead held until the 5th when the Panthers shut the door on the Rockets on a Ciara Heffron hit.

Finarty was efficient walking just one and striking out five. Knoxville is now 16-7 and now 5-3 in the South Central Conference. Knoxville will head to the Pella Christian Invitational today to play the host Eagles and Grinnell. Baseball played on the other side of Panther Drive and Knoxville suffered a 7-3 loss to the Rockets despite seeing EBF commit five errors. The Panthers were limited to just three hits while the Rockets pounded out nine of their own. Jaxon Zuck took the loss going two innings, Beau Leisure pitched three innings of relief with seven strikeouts. Knoxville is now 8-13 the 4-8 in the conference. Knoxville is off until Monday when the Panthers travel to Albia.
