The Knoxville baseball Squad finished off its double header with Centerville and finished off taking the season series over the Big Reds 5-1 in game one and 8-2 in the nightcap. The first game was a continuation of the suspended game from June 24th with the score tied at one in the 4th inning. Jaxon Zuck hit a two RBI single to give the Panthers control in the 6th inning. Zuck went 3/3 with three RBI. In the second game, the Big Reds struck for two in the 1st inning but the Panthers would not allow another run while splitting their eight runs evenly in the 3rd and 4th innings. Luke Spaur went 2/4 with two RBI, while Beau Leisure notched two RBI on a double. Dakota Ramsey earned the win going 6 2/3 innings allowing two runs on six hits, a strikeout and a walk. Coach Turner Devore tells KNIA/KRLS Sports with two more nights left in this week, he wants his team to finish strong.

Devore:
“A doubleheader with Clarke and Chariton. I told our guys it’s a week that we can rattle off some games if we play well. We just have to be ready when its our time to play.”

Knoxville is now 11-14 and improves to 7-8 in the South Central Conference and will host Clarke tonight for another twin bill. Hear the nightcap on 95.3 KNIA at around 7:30.
