Before the Top 10 countdown of the 2020-2021 school year begins, it’s time to look at the honorable mentions from Central Athletics.

The Dutch women’s golf team was in Normal, Illinois on April 10th, where Central finished in sixth place with a 703. But sophomore Delaney Underwood shined on the course in rainy conditions, shooting a 78 and finishing in second place.

After dropping its first two meets of the spring season, the women’s tennis team got back on the right track in the conference tournament, defeating Loras 5-2 on their home court. Central got wins from all three doubles pairings. Maddie Hartley clinched the match with a win at No. 4 singles. Central also had singles wins from Karleigh Schilling, Alyssa Lewton, and Bronwyn Metcalf.

Holding their own against some of the best decathletes in the world, Central College graduates Will Daniels and Kurtis Brondyke competed at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials in early June. Daniels, a 2019 Central graduate, and Brondyke, a 2011 grad, qualified for the meet after having two of the top-18 decathlon scores by American athletes since January 1, 2019. Daniels placed 14th with 6,803 points and Brondyke was 15th with 6,575 points.

The top 10 moments of 2020-2021 begin Monday.
