The #7 Knoxville sports moment in our top ten countdown of Panther athletics takes us to the same night of yesterday’s #8 moment on February 11th when the Panthers played Bondurant-Farrar. Kieren Nichols will undoubtedly go down as one of the all-time greats to wear a Knoxville basketball uniform. On that night he broke a long standing three point shooting record.

Nichols took over the all-time three point shots made in a career, breaking former Panther great Brad Davis with his 152nd career made three. Nichols would go on to finish with 160 three pointers in his career. He also left Knoxville with several other records. He is tied for the most points in a game with 41 ironically a little over a year earlier against the same Bondurant-Farrar squad. Nichols nearly broke through another scoring barrier coming within one point of the 1,500 point barrier.
